A Contemporary Creative Studio For Storytelling
Katha Creatives is an independent storytelling studio founded by Sushant Risbud.
The studio was created as a space for developing and presenting stories across different forms. from books and poetry to performances, films and collaborative creative projects.
The first project under Katha Creatives is the independently published poetry book पाँच रुपए के पाँच ख़याल.
Over time, the studio continues to grow as a platform for original storytelling.
About Katha Creatives
At its core, Katha Creatives is a space for stories.
Some stories are written as poems.
Some are performed on stage.
Some take shape through images, design and film.
Rather than limiting itself to a single format, the studio explores storytelling across multiple mediums allowing ideas to evolve naturally into books, performances or visual projects.
Every project begins with a simple question:
What is the story we want to tell?
Our Story
Katha Creatives began as a personal creative journey.
While working professionally as a production designer and creative director in films and visual storytelling, Sushant continued writing poetry and sharing it at small gatherings and performances.
Between 2022 and 2024, many of these poems slowly became the book पाँच रुपए के पाँच ख़याल.
Publishing the book independently led to the creation of Katha Creatives a space where writing, performance and visual storytelling could come together under one identity.
What started with a book continues to evolve through new projects and collaborations.
Our Project
Kya Kehne is a curated live poetry experience presented by Katha Creatives.
The show brings together poets and musicians on stage, where original poetry meets the timeless music of Hindi, Urdu and Marathi traditions.
Each performance is shaped by the artists and the audience in the room making every edition of Kya Kehne a unique live experience.
Collaborators
This project came together through the support and collaboration of many generous people.
Our company history and facts
I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment; and yet I feel that I never was a greater artist than now.
